Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities of the charity & Office administration
  • Organise and co-ordinate the various aspects of the NGO’s operations - optimising outputs & deliverables
  • Interface with and support Action Team Leaders
  • Interview & recruit volunteers – Also conducts performance management
  • Optimise productivity and monitors action points for Staff, Contractors &

Volunteers

  • Organise appropriate training for Staff and Volunteers
  • Prepare regular reports for CEO & Board
  • Produce PSJ UK Annual Report & Financial Report
  • Ensure Charity’s statutory compliance
  • Oversee the yearly planning cycle
  • Manage the organisational Risk register
  • Manage the organisation’s KPIs
  • Manage core team; setting objectives for the team, monitoring attendance and conducting performance appraisals
  • Interface with appointed Accountants, Auditors, Insurers, Fundraisers, Bankers, Premises / Facilities Managers, Payroll Administrators etc
  • Review and sign-off fundraising applications for grants and trusts
  • Supplier management
  • Review created content and sign-off on website updates & letters going out
  • Prepare material for advocacy campaigns and supporter generation

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • A degree in the following fields is highly desirable but not mandatory:
  • Business Management
  • Accounting

Preferred Skills & Experiences

  • Prior experience in a similar role is essential
  • Very Good communicator – both oral and written
  • The ability to work independently and flexibly
  • Enthusiastic personality with genuine interest in the cause
  • Experience supporting busy multi-facetted executive at a Senior level
  • Have strong MS Office skills and be conversant with other tools e.g. CRMs
  • Experience working for a charity is a plus but not essential
  • Experience managing a team
  • Be highly organised and detail orientated

 

Additional Notes

There will be an occasional requirement for the role holder to work outside of

normal working hours and to travel for work.

Key roles as a campaigns/events volunteer: 

  1. Comprehensive Event Planning: Produce detailed event proposals, research venues, and suppliers, and manage logistics (before, during and after event).  
  2. Effective Coordination: Coordinate suppliers, handle queries, manage resources, and ensure smooth event execution. 
  3. Strategic Management: Oversee safety, legal compliance, evaluations, and explore new client and event opportunities. 
  4. Conduct post-event evaluation and report to inform future events  
  5. Contribute to the yearly events calendar planning and budget cycle 
Key responsibilities: 
  • Scope and lead digital and technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Support project activities including process documentation 
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Partner with the developers and engineering team plus vendors to identify technical solutions to inspire productivity
  • Ensure that the digital solutions are aligned with the company's objectives and industry standards.
  • Create and manage comprehensive project documentation including plans, and RAID logs 
  • Identify potential risks and devise contingency plans.
  • Track project performance and suggest improvements.

The Legal and compliance volunteer will provide legal counsel and support to all departments within the organisation including senior management, finance, human resources, media, operations, corporate partnership, etc. As a member of the team, you are part of the key members who shapes and drives PSJ UK’s strategic direction.  

 

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE VOLUNTEER   

  • Provide high-quality legal advice,guidance and representation.   
  • Effectively manage legal risk and ensure that PSJUK remains compliant with central laws and regulations.   
  • Create, Implement, administer and enforce policies, procedures and laws required for PSJUK to operate.  Advising on data protection and privacy matters etc.   
  • Draft and negotiating simple and complex contracts including but not limited to those related to partnerships with third parties.  
  • Review marketing materials, presentations and websites to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 
  • Other tasks that may come up 

Experience and skills required for the role.  

  • Legal acumen: Experience practising law in corporate law firms or non-profit organisations.   
  • Global mindset: Ability to collaborate and manage risk and complexity across borders and cultures. 
  • A leader who can foster close collaboration between compliance and other functions and can communicate the importance of compliance to a varied set of stakeholders internally and externally. 
  • You will be excellent in multi-tasking, with a positive, results-orientated attitude and have excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Candidates must have an L.L.B. from a recognised law school.

Research Volunteer

Social Media Volunteer
